Saudi Arabia saw a steep increase in the daily number of coronavirus cases with 2,642 new infections reported during the past 24 hours, raising the total to 67,719, according to the health ministry.
There were 2,963 recoveries on Thursday, taking the overall number of recovered cases to 39,003, according to the MOH.
Meanwhile, 13 more people succumbed to the deadly virus taking the total number of COVID-19 related fatalities in the Kingdom to 364.
Riyadh topped the list of new cases with 856 infections, followed by Jeddah (403), Makkah (289), Madinah (205) and Dammam (194).
The ministry continues to urge people to only go out when absolutely necessary and to avoid crowds in order to not contract or spread the virus.
