Cairo : The Arab League General Secretariat has expressed full solidarity with Bahrain in rejecting the European Parliament Resolution regarding human rights in Bahrain.
The Arab League said that throughout its follow-up over the years of the human rights situation in Bahrain, it has recorded numerous positive developments, especially with regard to human rights initiatives.
Bahrain’s support for the establishment of the Arab Court for Human Rights, its ratification of the Arab Charter for Human Rights, and other positive political and human rights initiatives are among Bahrain’s developments, the League said in a statement.
The General Secretariat said that it rejected, in principle, politicizing human rights issues or addressing them in a manner that is both biased and limited to attack and criticism, based on inaccurate and unsubstantiated information and without regard to the situation on the ground or the complex context of the process of political and human rights development, in Bahrain and in other Arab countries.
