Rome: The Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration will be highlighted in the Italian capital Rome on Thursday.
The Declaration that reflects HM the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision and approach to promote coexistence, peace and tolerance and combat extremism and terrorism in the world was launched in the US in September 2017.
“The Declaration which was drafted by HM the King is based on historical foundations about coexistence in Bahrain and the correct religious approach,” King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Existence Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said.
“The launch of the Declaration in Europe is an important stage for sharing with the international community the importance of the document that reflects the Bahraini model of peaceful coexistence.”
His Eminence Pope Francis, during his historic visit to Bahrain in November 2022, hailed the Declaration as a significant document for human rights and dialogue, Shaikh Khalid added.
“The well-established history of the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects an exemplary picture of a unique experience that advances peaceful coexistence and humanity between the various groups in the community, and Bahrain has always shown tolerance towards various religions on its land and encouraged people to exercise their faiths freely and peacefully,” he said.
“The Declaration is based on the importance of having a faith, as faith is the hope of humanity and the framework that defines the foundations of life and the ethics of coexistence between peoples.”
