MANAMA: The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) has initiated its ‘Candidacy Program’, which is the last stage of its process to select the recipients of ten scholarships for the year 2020. The CPISP, in cooperation with Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), held an induction session to brief the sixty pre-selected students from public and private schools on the courses and training they will receive during the Candidacy Program. CPISP Director, Dr. Cynthia Gessling, congratulated the pre-selected students for reaching the final stage of the selection process, praising HRH the Crown Prince’s vision to develop young Bahrainis through education and training.
Dr. Gessling explained that during the Candidacy Program, the students will complete a number of specialized courses on critical thinking, academic writing, leadership, and communications. Also, the students will receive personality and career path assessments, preparation courses for the IELTS and SAT exams, and a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading – granted by the UK-based Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Dr. Gessling highlighted that these courses aim to develop both personal and academic skills.The CPISP will announce the 10 recipients of the Scholarship early next year, who will be selected based on their Grade Point Averages (GPA), their IELTS and SAT tests scores, and their results on the critical thinking and leadership courses.Dr. Gessling thanked BIBF for its support and continued cooperation with the Program, praising the quality of training offered by the Institute. She also wished the students a successful and productive experience.
