According to the latest statistics, 97.5 percent have so far access to e-lessons on the ministry’s educational portal.
Special Education Director Khalid Al-Saidi said that the online lessons have so far benefited 9, 545 special education students, adding that efforts are underway to ensure the others have access to the portal.
“49 autistic and 10 hearing-impaired students integrated at mainstream classes have a marked use of the portal”, he said, adding that other categories of special education students are also benefiting from the initiative.
The directorate has also reached out with cancer and sickle cell students who are at public hospitals to get reassured about the health and studies and meet their needs.
