UAE has announced 571 new cases, and 1 fatality from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the total cases in the country to 36,359, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP). The World Health Organization’s Data Safety and Monitoring Committee has recommended for WHO to continue studying hydroxychloroquine as a potential COVID-19 treatment in its Solidarity Trial, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a media briefing in Geneva on Wednesday. Researchers are learning more about how COVID-19 affects children, and a new study finds that among a group of children and adolescents in New York who were hospitalized with the disease, about a fifth — 22% — had obesity. Bahrain MOH has announced the death of a 37-year-old male expatriate, a registered active case of coronavirus (COVID-19) suffering from underlying and chronic health problems, taking the country’s total deaths to 20.
