Bahrain Coast Guard Commander announced on Saturday the arrest of two fishermen for violating the shrimp catching ban. He said that patrols spotted and followed a boat heading to Al Malkiya beach. Meanwhile, the land patrol caught a vehicle at the same beach, in which the driver was arrested and eight boxes of shrimps seized. The maritime patrols confiscated the boat and illegal trawling nets and arrested its captain while trying to escape. Legal proceedings were taken, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution. Saudi Arabia saw a steep increase in the daily number of coronavirus cases with 2,442 new infections reported during the past 24 hours, raising the total to 70,161, according to the health ministry. There were 2,233 recoveries on Thursday, taking the overall number of recovered cases to 41,236, according to the MOH. Bahrain has reported 76 new COVID-19 cases, of which 45 are among expatriate workers, 30 were a contact of an active case, and 1 was travel-related, this takes today’s total cases to 240.
