Kuwait has warned citizens not to violate curfew regulations amid the coronavirus outbreak, or face harsh punishments such as deportation for expatriates, according to a report by local daily Kuwait Times. The country’s Interior Ministry issued the warning, asking people to seek special permits online to be able to leave their homes during the curfew. Nasser Buslaib, the head of the ministry’s security media department, said citizens caught violating the curfew will be referred to proper authorities for investigation, while expats could face deportation. The Ministry of Health confirmed 75 cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number to 417 cases. Five of the persons who tested positive for contracting the disease came back to Kuwait from the United Kingdom as part of the latest repatriates’ evacuation, said Dr. Abdullah AlSanad, the MoH official spokesperson. According to the latest update from the Health Ministry’s contact tracing data, the baby girl tested positive after coming in contact with two other coronavirus positive cases.
