Amid fear of coronavirus, Saudi Arabia has suspended travel to nine countries, for residents and citizens. The country has suspended entry of people who have visited the countries in the past fortnight. The nine countries are the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, South Korea, Egypt, Italy and Iraq. The state news agency reported that all naval trips and flights between the Kingdom and the mentioned countries would also be suspended, excluding trade trips and evacuations.

The Ministry of Health underlined that the necessary legal measures will be taken against violators of Public Health Law No. 34 of 2018, which include a prison term of not less than 3 months and a fine of not less than BD 1,000, for an individual who intentionally conceals a person with a contagious disease or exposes others to diseases, or who intentionally causes the transmission of diseases to others, or refrains from carrying out any measure to prevent the spread of the disease. Manama: The Ministry of Health has announced the temporary closure of a treatment ward at Salmaniya Medical Complex, as a precautionary measure, after a resident doctor had tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).The Ministry noted that the resident doctor was in direct contact with her mother, who returned from abroad and was registered as testing positive for COVID-19.The Ministry emphasised that the health and safety of patients and medical staff remains a priority, and added that the ward has been completely sterilized and disinfected.
