Manama: Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, attended today the conclusion of the 4th Public Security Quran Competition. The contest attracted 200 officers, commissioned officers, and civilian employees from various Interior Ministry Directorates. The Chief of Public Security, Interior Ministry Undersecretary and Inspector-General attended.
The Interior Minister asserted that the organization of the event comes as part of the wise approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of patronising the annual Bahrain Grand Quran Competition, which is one of the most prestigious Quran contests at the local and regional levels. He added that Quran gives police personnel the spiritual growth to carry out their duties with nationalism, sincerity and loyalty. He noted the dedication of the Interior Ministry to promoting such competitions to spread good values.
He valued the positive participation and the competitive spirit of the participants, hailing the role of the General Directorate of Guard in organising the event. He directed to hold the competition annually and include a new category for callers for prayers (Muazens).
The competition supervisor, Col. Faisal Al Arjani, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for patronizing the event and for the endless support to the workforce to enhance knowledge and skills. He said that the competition has become popular over the years among employees. The Interior Minister distributed certificates on the winners and members of the organizing committee and jury. He wished them the best in serving the nation.
