Bahrain :  Al-Mabarrah Al-Khalifia Foundation (MKF) announced the commencement of registration for the medical scholarships carrying the names of the late His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain (RSCI).

Registration will take place for 11 days starting from 29th May to 8th June 2022.  Applicants will be accepted after passing several stages of selection, which will require them to achieve a minimum academic achievement of 98%, along with passing the university’s selection process and the personal interview, in addition to outstanding achievements and participating community services.

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation declared that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RCSI to provide additional scholarships within the framework of the Rayaat programme for a period of 5 years. Thus, more students would be encouraged to study medicine. A scholarship application form will be available on the Foundation’s website, for those that are interested in applying for the scholarship under the Rayaat programme.

Commenting on the occasion, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, expressed her great happiness in announcing the registration for medical grants as part of the Rayaat scholarship programme during the coming period, stressing on the demand for more Bahraini students to obtain a university qualification heralds a future generation of conscious and education youth.

“We are pleased to announce the renewal of our partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, which will be characterized by an increase in the number of scholarships offered, as students – in the past years- have been able to prove academic excellence as declared by the   RCSI’s management. This comes in line with our core objectives and the Rayaat programme in particular, which entails mentoring a conscious and educated generation with the right knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to society and push the youth towards progress and development,” she added.

It is noteworthy that Rayaat scholarship programme is considered as one of the most prominent programs of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, which was launched in 2011, and is aligned with the Foundation’s mission to empower the younger generation and develop their scientific and practical skills across different fields.

In addition to scholarships for academic education, the program organizes workshops and educational sessions throughout the academic year and provides training opportunities in the public and private sectors with the aim to develop the necessary skills and provide students with the necessary work ethics. As part of the program, students are also encouraged to participate in voluntary work to serve the community and develop their sense of responsibility towards the nation.
