The Tender Board, the independent regulator of Bahrain Government procurement activities, today opened 45 bids related to six tenders for four purchasing authorities.
The Committee opened one tender for the Ministry of Health, for the supply of drugs. 17 bids were received.
During the opening session, one tender in the aviation sector for the Bahrain Airport Company for the airfield maintenance – term contract at Bahrain international airport was opened, with nine bids received for it.
For the oil and gas sector, three tenders were opened for the Tatweer Petroleum. Five bids were received for the first tender for the special logging and perforation systems services. Meanwhile, eight bids were received for the second tender regarding the provision of medical and life insurance, and five bids were opened for 33kv and 11kv high voltage overhead electrical lines – site wide distribution network.
The committee opened a tender for the Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company for 5 years’ term agreement with Siemens for services. One bid was received for this tender.
The tender process was attended by representatives of the bidding companies and companies participating in the tenders, in line with the Tender Board’s guidelines on competitiveness and fairness. The board collaborates with the public sector purchasing authorities, as well as local, regional and international contractors and suppliers in order to ensure equality, transparency and competitiveness in all government tendering and purchasing practices.
