His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has issued directives to the Coordination and Follow-up Committee of the “Feena Khair” campaign to support convicts with unpaid fines who are facing financial problems.
The support will be provided as part of the project, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
HH Shaikh Nasser said that the directives to support Bahraini citizens with unpaid fines who had received court verdicts and who are facing financial problems are in emulation and appreciation of the humanitarian initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the efforts of the government spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
They are also in line with the national efforts of Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), HH Shaikh Nasser said.
The directives, which are the outcome of the outstanding success of the Feena Khair campaign, also aim to extend a helping hand to Bahraini citizens who reached a regretful situation because of circumstances that are against their will in order to give them an opportunity to share the Eid joy with their families, he added.
RHF Secretary General and Chairman of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee in charge of distributing aid in ‘Feena Khair’ campaign, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen, said that in line with HM the King’s generous gestures, the initiatives launched by the government, led by HRH Premier, and the dedicated efforts exerted by Team Bahrain, led by HRH the Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Nasser gave directives to pay the debts and fines of a number of convicts featuring in the lists published by the Interior Ministry on the “Fael Khair” campaign application.
He paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his kind humanitarian gesture, stressing that it reflects his big humanitarian role as a Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and RHF Board of Trustees Chairman.
“The directives embody HH Shaikh Nasser’s keenness to direct the donations of citizens and residents in “Feena Khair” campaign to people in need of them due to the current situation resulting from the exceptional and unprecedented global circumstances,” said Dr. Al-Sayed.
He added that HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives are part of the “Feena Khair” campaign’s efforts to achieve maximum benefits for the citizens, especially those with unpaid fines in order to enable them to join their families during Eid Al-Adha.
It is worth noting that it is the second time that HH Shaikh orders the payment of debts and fines of convicts.
In June, HH Shaikh Nasser ordered the allocation of an amount of BD 330,000 from ‘Feena Khair’ campaign to the ‘Fael Khair’ project that was launched by the Ministry of Interior to enable people to donate cash to those suffering from financial hardships and who received court verdicts.
