Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, today patronised the shooting exercise conducted by the Royal Tanks at the Bahrain Defence Force with live ammunition. Upon arrival at the site of the drill, HM the King, the Supreme Commander, was welcomed by the BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. HM the King was accompanied by the National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, Major-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Royal Guard Special Force Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. HM the King was also welcomed by Defence Affairs Minister, Lieutenant-General Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Dhiyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, as well as the Royal Tanks’ Commander and officers.
After some holy Quran verses were recited, the Royal Tanks’ Commander, Major-General Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Nuaimi, delivered a speech in which he welcomed HM the King, the Supreme Commander. He said that today’s military show is the last phase of the final test to train all the Royal Tanks’ brigades. He added that the Royal Tanks implements the instructions of the BDF General Command and the directives of the Commander-in-Chief to enhance the performance of the personnel through intensifying the training, adding that the specialised crews are trained and then examined centrally by the Royal Tanks College, under the supervision of the battalions’ commanders. He pointed out that the spirit of competitivity and creativity are fostered through competitions aimed at enhancing the performance of the affiliates of the Royal Tanks.
The Royal Tanks Commander renewed loyalty to HM the King, the Supreme Commander, pledging that the Royal Tanks’ affiliates will make every sacrifice to protect the kingdom, under HM the King’s leadership. HM King Hamad, the Supreme Commander expressed pride in the outstanding level of the exercise, regarding the accuracy and skill of the participants, paying tribute to those in charge for the drill for their distinguished planning and implementation. HM the King stressed the importance of such exercises in enhancing the combat skills of the Royal Tanks’ personnel.
HM the King, the Supreme Commander, requested the Royal Tanks’ Commander to convey his greetings to all the brave servicemen of the Royal Tanks, and his appreciation for them for their constant high level and combat preparedness, like all other brave BDF personnel, reflecting their high competence and keenness to carry out the tasks assigned to them with skill, determination and dedication, stressing that the BDF will remain, as it has always been, the protective shield of the nation. HM King Hamad, the Supreme Commander, was presented with a commemorative gift from the BDF Commander-in-Chief. HM the King was also informed about a number of BDF weapons.
