MANAMA: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met on Tuesday with the Minister for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, James Cleverly, in the Kingdom to participate in the Bahrain-UK Joint Working Group.
Al Zayani praised the close historical friendship between the two kingdoms and the growth it is witnessing in various fields. He also noted in this regard the advanced level of bilateral cooperation and coordination that serve their shared interests.
He stressed the importance of the constructive role of the Bahrain-UK Joint Working Group, the relentless efforts it exerts to enhance cooperation between the two countries, and the need to continue consultation and coordination on all political issues and challenges facing the region.
Cleverly expressed his pleasure to visit Bahrain and praised the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He stressed the British government’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Bahrain in broader areas, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields and ways to develop them, developments related to the political and security situation in the region and regional and international issues.
The two ministers co-chaired the 13th meeting of the Bahrain-UK Joint Working Group, during which they reviewed security, multilateral and trade cooperation as well as other topics and signed the joint action plan.
