Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, a ceremony will be held virtually on July 7 to announce the winners of the 5th edition of the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award.
Mass Media Director, Dr. Yousef Mohammed Ismail, has stated that the Ministry of Information has finalized all preparations to organise the ceremony which is held annually marking Bahrain Press Day. The event, he added, reflects the great respect given to the role of the press in raising public awareness and boosting national achievements under the comprehensive reform march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Mass Media Director indicated that the jury had completed the screening and arbitration process for the journalistic works vying for this year’s Prime Minister’s Journalism Award. He added those works have reached 320.
In line with the directives of Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, an impartial jury comprising well-qualified and experienced journalists and academics has been formed. It features in its membership Chairperson of Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) Ahdia Ahmed, Executive Director of the Gulf Press Union Farid Ahmed Hasan, Ahlia University Media Department Head Dr. Zuhair Dhaif and Assistant Professor at the University of Bahrain Media Department Dr. Maha Al-Rashid.
The Ministry of Information thanked all participants, praising their journalistic role and efforts to enlighten the community and develop the national press.
