Manama, Sept. 20 (BNA): The Ministry of Labour and Social Development has begun procedures for issuing permits to raise money for cultural institutions affiliated with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law 21/2013 on regulating fundraising for public purposes, and Edict 47/2014 on the issuance of its executive regulation.
In this regard, Labour Ministry’s Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare and Social Rehabilitation, and NGOs’ Support Director, Najwa Abdullatif Janahi, announced that the Labour Ministry had granted a permit to the Federation of Theatre Societies, and that work was underway to grant another to the Abdelrahman Kanoo Cultural Centre, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to achieve the goals of such organisations that seek to promote culture in the kingdom.
On the other hand, Janahi confirmed that the Labour Ministry is providing training workshops for cultural institutions affiliated with BACA, to review the necessary permits to obtain, whether permits to collect money, send funds abroad, or receive funds from abroad, in addition to explaining the mechanisms for submitting applications for the necessary permits.
Janahi called on cultural institutions wishing to attend these training workshops or apply for permits to raise money, to fill in the form on the Ministry’s website (www.mlsd.gov.bh) and send it back to the email (Ngo.dataentry01@mlsd.gov. bh), for the applications to be processed.
