Bahrain :Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Assistant Secretary-General Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting women’s status to reflect their contributions to the national economy.
She highlighted the strides accomplished by Bahraini women which enabled them to hold different leadership and diplomatic positions and enter the decision-making centres across all development fields.
Addressing a discussion session hosted by the National Communication Centre (NCC), Shaikha Deena shed light on the SCW role in promoting women and family status.
The discussion session was attended by the media delegation accompanying the Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Yair Lapid on his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The SCW Assistant Secretary-General underlined the role of the council in enhancing women’s competitiveness which benefited the national economy over the past two decades.
She stressed the council’s success in promoting gender balance and equal opportunities and supporting women’s progress, adding that Bahrain’s national model has been endorsed internationally.
She highlighted the gender balance indicators across different fields, including laws, legislations, national plans and strategies, underlining cooperation with the United Nations to two hold two editions so far of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Women Empowerment.
