Ankara: Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, held a press conference at the headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara today. Dr. Al Zayani praised the close friendship between the two countries, in light of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and   President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He said that he had delivered a written message to the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs from His Majesty the King to President Erdogan regarding the close cooperation relations between the two friendly countries. He stated that he participated in the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD)  meeting during which Bahrain took over from the Republic of Turkey the ACD presidency for the 2021-2022 session.

He stressed the importance of the ACD in strengthening joint cooperation in economic, trade, investment and cultural fields among member states to achieve common interests. He noted that he held a bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart during which they discussed the close friendly relations between the two countries, and affirmed their keenness to further enhance ties in various fields.

Cavusoglu expressed congratulations to the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of assuming the presidency of the next session of the ACD. He also asserted that Dr. Al Zayani’s visit   to Turkey is an opportunity to develop inter-relations, continue consultation and communication, and activate the mechanisms concluded between the two countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas.
