Bahrain : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted an inspection campaign in the Northern Governorate, in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and the Northern Governorate Directorate..
The campaign, which covered several work sites, resulted in spotting a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the arrest of a number of workers violating regulations and laws, noting that deportation procedures were taken in accordance with the legal mechanisms in place.
The authority pointed out that this campaign comes as a continuation of its intensive efforts in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the relevant government entities to develop the work environment and address all practices that would affect the competitiveness, justice and flexibility of the labour market, in addition to their negative effects on social security.
The authority stressed the importance of the society’s role in supporting the efforts of government entities that seek to maintain the society’s security, health and economic stability, calling on the public to report any irregularities related to the labour market and illegal expatriate workers.
