His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, heading Bahrain’s delegation to the 42nd meeting of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which will convene today.
HM the King was welcomed on arrival by Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, members of the Saudi royal family, ministers, the GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf and members of Bahrain embassy in Riyadh.
HM the King expressed thanks and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his invitation to participate in the 42nd GCC Summit, commending deep-rooted fraternal ties binding both countries and peoples. He praised growing bilateral relations which are based on common history and destiny and mutual interests.
HM the King affirmed that the 42nd session of the GCC Supreme Council constitutes an opportunity for consultation and the exchange of opinions between the GCC leaders regarding supporting the GCC march and preserving achievements. He underlined the prominent role of the Gulf Cooperation Council in boosting regional security and stability and backing the efforts of braving ambient challenges.
HM the King commended the blessed efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in serving GCC, Arab and Islamic issues. He lauded the continuous strategic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the regional and international level to ensure a better future for the world.
HM the King asserted that the presidency of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the summit will yield positive results to achieve the aspirations of the GCC people and handle challenges.
A mission of honour was formed under the presidency of Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media.
