The announcement of the 13th Faber-Castell ‘Spectra 2021’ art competition winners and release of Calendar 2022 containing winning paintings was held on Sunday, 2 January 2022.
‘Faber Castell Spectra 2021’, the annual art carnival, organised by the Indian Community Relief Fund (“ICRF”) had an overwhelming response this year which saw students from 17 countries joining the competition, making it SPECTRA INTERNATIONAL 2021.
More than 550 children from around 80 schools spread across 17 countries participated in the art competition held online on 10th, 11th December & 26 December 2021. In addition, there was a competition for adults group (18 years and above) in Bahrain as well.
The results were declared and the winners were honoured at a ceremony held on Sunday, 2 January 2022 at the Indian Embassy hall, Seef. Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain His Excellency Sri Piyush Srivastava was the Chief Guest of the ceremonial event, who also distributed winning trophies and certificates. Sri Ravishankar Shukhla – Second Secretary at Embassy of India and Sri Ihjas Aslam – Second Secretary at Embassy of India have also joined the ceremony.
ICRF Chairman Dr Babu Ramachandran, General Secretary Pankaj Nallur, Vice Chairman Adv. V K Thomas, Advisor Bhagwan Asarpota, Advisor/Ex Officio Aruldas Thomas, Joint Secretary and Spectra Convener Aneesh Sreedharan, Treasurer Mani Lakshmanamoorthy, Spectra Joint Convenors Nithin Jacob and Muralikrishnan and Mr Sanjay Bhan of title sponsor Faber Castell and ICRF Excom members Suresh Babu, Raman Preeth, Murli Nomula, Javad Pasha, and Pankaj Malik were present at the ceremony.
For the art competition students were divided into four age groups – five to eight years, eight to eleven years, eleven to thirteen years and fourteen to eighteen years.
Top 5 winners from each group from Bahrain were awarded trophies and certificates.
The winner in Group 1 is SRIHARI SANTHOSH from Indian School, second place BASIL KOORUVELIL JOJO from Indian School, third place AMEYA JHA from New Millennium School, fourth place SAANVI GHOSH from New Millennium School and fifth place ARUSHI CHANANA FONSEKA from Britus International School.
The winner in Group 2 is DEVNA PRAVEEN from Asian School, second place SAMBHAVI JHA from New Millennium School, third place SMRITHI RAGHUPATHY IYER from New Millennium School, fourth place ELINA PRASANNA from the Indian School and fifth place NEHA JAGADHEESH from the Indian School.
The winner in Group 3 is ASITA JAYAKUMAR from the Indian School, second place SREYA SAJU from the New Indian School, third place ANANNYA KUNNATHPARAMB from the Indian School, fourth place PARTHI JAIN from New Millennium School and fifth place GAURAVI KALIHARI from the New Millennium School.
The winner in Group 4 is ANGELIN RAMEESHA from the New Indian School, second place SHILPA SANTHOSH from the Indian School, third place SUMITH THACHEDATHU SAM from New Millennium School, fourth place G. ISHITHA MAHI from New Millennium School and fifth place ANUSHA SAINI from the Indian School.
The winner in Group 5 is CATHERINE BASSIG PAJE, second place NITASHA BIJU, third place VIKAS KUMAR GUPTA, fourth place JESUS RAMOS TEJADA and fifth place BHUPENDRA PATHAK.
All the schools from Bahrain were honoured with a memento for their continued support to SPECTRA for over a decade.
Top 5 winners from each group of international competition will also be recognised through certificates and gift hampers.

All participants will also receive Certificate of Appreciation for being part of this noble cause.
The winning entries and other outstanding creations by the children figured in wall and desktop calendars for the year 2022. These calendars were released at the function by H.E. Mr Piyush Srivastava, the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Net proceeds from the competition is going towards a Family Welfare Fund to provide relief to support the families of deceased Indian labourers drawing wages below BD100 per month.
