Bahrain : The third edition of the West Asian Para Games – Bahrain 2022 will be open officially on Sunday at 7 pm in Arad Fort.
The opening ceremony will be patronized by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The organization of the competition reflects Bahrain’s standing as a destination for major sporting events, and capability in hosting competitions.
“The organizing committee led by Shaikh Mohamed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, has worked closely with all the committees to ensure the efficiency and success of the opening ceremony of the 3rd West Asian Para Games – Bahrain 2022”, said Latifa Fakhro, Head of the Media, Public Relations and Marketing Committee.
“We have chosen Arad Fort as the location for the opening ceremony for many reasons, one being to highlight the Bahrain’s diverse and rich history”, she pointed out, stressing the importance of connecting sporting events to historical milestones.
She said that the opening ceremony will include speeches highlighting Bahrain’s hosting of the regional Asian tournaments and upcoming games, stressing the importance of promoting Paralympic sports.
