Washington: During the visit of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the United States, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a meeting with Don Graves, the US Deputy Secretary of Commerce, which was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides.
The Minister highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States share a long history of collaboration, developed through agreements, memoranda, and mutual visits.
It was announced during the meeting that the US has been granted official partner status in the Bahrain Global Sea-to-Air Hub.
The Minister stressed that this new point of cooperation reflects a shared interest in continuing to develop bilateral ties. He explained that official partner status provides benefiting countries with a set of privileges.
Al Zayani also highlighted the recent establishment of the US Trade Zone (USTZ) in Bahrain, at Salman Industrial City, as a testament of the strong economic relations between the two nations and one which plays an important role in achieving the objectives of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026), part of the Economic Recovery Plan.
A number of issues of common interest were also discussed during the meeting.
