Washington : Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, has underscored the significant role played by the financial and banking sector in backing the national economy and attracting investments. He affirmed the importance to continue supporting this sector to promote its role at all levels.
He was speaking as he met with Global Head of Citi’s Public Sector Group Julie Monaco, on the sidelines of his participation in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, in Washington, the USA.
The meeting was held in the presence of Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Rashid Mohammed Al Meraj and Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa pointed out the importance to continue boosting cooperation with the international financial and banking establishments and exchanging expertise in providing financial and banking services.
Both sides reviewed the latest global economic developments and issues of common interest.
