Abu Dhabi : Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, visited the United Arab Emirates. He met the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General HH Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The visit was part of brotherly ties and cooperation between the two countries. HE the Interior Minister congratulated the UAE and its leadership and citizens on the National Day, hailing the process of prosperity and progress witnessed by the UAE. He also valued strong ties between the two brotherly countries thanks to the care and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the UAE President HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahayan.
The Minister of Interior hailed the security cooperation and coordination between the two countries and mutual keenness to exchange expertise and successful experiences. He also praised the honorable stances of the UAE towards Bahrain.
The meeting reviewed security topics of common interest, including the e-linking of traffic violations and the exchange of expertise on civil defence and data of travellers. Both sides agreed to launch joint anti-narcotics programmes and awareness initiatives on addiction treatment.
The Interior Minister visited the National Rehabilitation Centre in Abu Dhabi, which was established 20 years ago. He was briefed about its sustainable services and the targeted groups to integrate them into society.
At the end of the visit, the Interior Minister hailed the centre’s rehabilitation services, highlighting the importance of exchanging expertise in prevention programmes. He wished the UAE further progress and prosperity.
