Manama: Industry and Commerce Minister, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, has affirmed his keenness to continue ensuring the flow of commercial activity in the kingdom, especially through field visits, as they provide an opportunity to be informed about traders’ remarks.
He also highlighted the importance of traditional markets at the local and GCC levels, as they enjoy the constant interest of the government thanks to their historical and economic value.
The minister made the statements while paying an inspection visit to the Muharraq Souq, in the presence of Governor, Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al-Mannai, Industry Ministry’s Undersecretary, Eman Ahmed Al-Dossari, and businessman, Fuad Hassan Shuwaitar. He met merchants and shoppers, and was informed about the market’s activity.
The Minister was briefed about the general situation in the Muharraq market, including the smooth supply of products and commodities, in addition to the availability of all types of goods, products and services at reasonable prices.
He was also informed about the extent to which merchants and consumers benefit from commercial promotions and discounts during the kingdom’s festive season. He also listened to a set of proposals presented by the market traders.
