Manama : First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has directed to launch a media campaign, themed “#You Deserve Gold” to support the Bahrain national football team during its participation in the 25th Gulf Cup, set to be held in Basra, Iraq, from January 6 to 19, 2023.
HH Shaikh Khalid instructed the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee to coordinate with the Bahrain Football Association in launching a media campaign to the support the national football team so as to continue bringing about more achievements to the kingdom, following its success in winning its first Gulf Cup during the previous edition.
HH Shaikh Khalid stressed the importance of supporting the national team, the holders of the 24th Gulf Cup, in order to be able to retain its title, which requires newspapers, the Bahrain Sports channel, social media networks and various mass media to rally behind the national team.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed confidence in the players’ ability to achieve the best results during the 25th Gulf Cup, noting that the theme of the campaign is in line with the “Era of Gold” slogan launched by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to motivate Bahraini athletes to perform well during various competitions, calling on all media outlets to cooperate with the sports authorities to ensure the success of the campaign.
