Manama : The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) organised a sports event to mark Bahrain Sports Day, which was attended by employees of the PMO.
The Director-General of the PMO, Hamad bin Yaqoob Al Mahmeed, affirmed that Bahrain Sports Day highlights the importance of embracing a culture of active and healthy lifestyle, which contributes to further strengthening public health. In this regard, Al Mahmeed noted His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s commitment and support to the Kingdom’s sports sector.
Al Mahmeed highlighted the commitment shown by PMO employees in their participation in the event and its activities, which reinforces the goal of National Sports Day.
Al Mahmeed noted the Kingdom’s wide-ranging sports achievements, emphasising the commitment and support of the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to the sector.
Al Mahmeed commended the Kingdom’s efforts in promoting an active lifestyle and raising awareness of its importance in improving public health and the quality of life for all.
