Cairo : The Arab League has conferred the Arab sustainable development pioneers award on the Undersecretary of the Cabinet Affairs Ministry, Honorary President of the Good Word Society, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in recognition of HH’s prominent role in promoting voluntary and developmental work, as well as in achieving Sustainable Development (SDGs 2030) at the Arab level.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali was honoured during a celebration held at the premises of the Arab League here, under the patronage of Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Representatives of Arab governments, organisations and civil society attended the event, held marking the Arab Sustainability Day.
During the ceremony, several prominent Arab personalities working in the fields of sustainable development were also honoured.
On the occasion, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa expressed thanks and appreciation to the Arab League and its Secretary-General for their recognition of voluntary work and sustainable development efforts, voicing pride in the Arab Sustainability Day.
He affirmed that Bahrain boasts an advanced institutional infrastructure and a widely recognised development process that have been achieved thanks to the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the dedicated efforts exerted by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance the Bahraini society’s progress and achieve the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
He recalled the contributions of the late His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to voluntary and development work, affirming that HRH’s developmental and humanitarian initiatives and stances will always be remembered in Bahrain, in particular, and in the Arab and Islamic worlds, in general.
