Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was at the forefront of those who welcomed the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, upon his return to the kingdom, following his success in winning first place in the FEI Endurance World Championship.
HH Shaikh Nasser outclassed 126 jockeys representing 36 countries in the 160-kilometre race in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, bringing home a new global achievement that adds to the kingdom’s rich record of regional, continental and international championships.
HM the King expressed thanks to sisterly UAE for hosting the FEI Endurance World Championship, and providing all kinds of facilities for the participants, which contributed to the success of the global event, and consolidated the UAE’s leading status and prestigious reputation for hosting mega sports events.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, National Guard Commander, General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, general Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Royal Court Minister, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, also welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser.
HM King Hamad and HH Shaikh Nasser headed to the grand VIP Lounge at the Al-Sakhir Air Base, where the Guard of Honour lined up to greet them. They were also greeted by a group of female students.
Then, members of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, presidents of sports federations and heads of sports entities greeted HM the King and HH Shaikh Nasser and congratulated them on the global achievement.
HM King Hamad expressed sincere congratulations to HH Shaikh Nasser on the exploit, voicing pride in the global victory that embodies HH’s determination to win titles and enhance Bahrain’s status at various sports gatherings.
HM the King affirmed that HH Shaikh Nasser’s patriotism and multiple achievements in various fields are a source of pride for all Bahrain, adding that the well-deserved victory confirms Bahrain’s distinguished ability to attain successes.
HM the King hailed the youth and sports boom enjoyed by Bahrain thanks to the dedicated efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, who are doing their utmost to lift the national banners.
Then, HM the King bid farewell to HH Shaikh Nasser, wishing him continued success in serving the kingdom and its people.
A Bahrain Ardha show was held on the occasion to celebrate HH Shaikh Nasser’s victory and return home.
