Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Csaba Korosi, the President of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), who is currently on a visit to the kingdom.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation at various levels.
HM the King praised the advanced level of the ongoing cooperation between Bahrain and the UNCPGA aimed at serving sustainable development goals.
HM King Hamad stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the UN and its various agencies, entities, and programmes, especially in the development, health, educational and environmental fields.
HM the King affirmed Bahrain’s support for the UN’s efforts in achieving its humanitarian goals.
HM the King highlighted the meeting of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly, hosted by the Kingdom last March, and its outcome in terms of consolidating the UN’s principles to achieve global progress and prosperity.
The meeting also dealt with several issues and the most prominent regional and international developments.
HM King commended the UN’s important role in promoting international peace and security and finding solutions to various global issues and problems, in addition to its efforts to confront environmental and natural disasters and climate change.
HM King Hamad affirmed the Kingdom always seeks to promote peace, stability, and prosperity while strengthening rapprochement among peoples of different cultures through tolerance, coexistence, and harmony, out of its belief in the values of love, tolerance, coexistence and harmony among all, to which it is committed.
The UNCPGA President thanked HM the King for the warm welcome and hospitality, praising the vital role played by the kingdom, under HM the King’s leadership, in supporting the UN’s goals to serve security and stability, and promote peace regionally and globally .
He also lauded the development strides achieved by Bahrain, under the leadership of HM the King, stressing that the Kingdom is a role model for coexistence and tolerance among various social segments.
