Manama : Nine infrastructure projects worth BD11,293,,119 were awarded last month, said Works Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
In a statement today, the undersecretary he said that bids have been invited for 8 other projects a total estimated cost of BD 10,872,279.
“The projects were awarded as part of the ministry’s efforts to develop public services and upgrade the infrastructure across Bahrain to meet citizens’ needs, support the national economy and keep pace with the urban and investment development”, he said.
He stressed the ministry’s commitment to continue implementing infrastructure development projects that contribute to meeting the needs of citizens and improving the level of public services.
The Tender Board awarded four roads projects for BD9,559, 488. These include mainly the maintenance works of Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Causeway, South Bahrain Ring Road – Phase Two (TUNNEL, 27th Street and 79th Road Development Project in Saar).
“These projects are part of the ministry’s efforts and initiatives to facilitate traffic movement, reduce traffic jams, and improve traffic safety”, said Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed.
He noted that three other sanitary drainage projects were awarded at a total cost of BD1,576,580. These include projects to upgrade a number of sewage networks across Bahrain.
