    Inflation nitong Mayo, bumaba sa 6.1% – PSA

    Bumaba sa 6.1% ang inflation nitong buwan ng Mayo mula sa 6.6% na naitala noong buwan ng Abril, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes, Hunyo 6.

    Ayon sa PSA, ito ang ikaapat na magkakasunod na buwan ng deceleration sa headline inflation sa bansa.

    “Despite the decline, the inflation rate in May 2022 was still lower at 5.4 percent. The year-to-date average inflation rate, that is from January to May 2023, stood at 7.5 percent,” anang PSA.

    Sa 13 commodity group, nagbigay umano ng pinakamalaking kontribusyon sa naturang pagbaba ng inflation rate sa bansa ang transportasyon sa -0.5% mula sa 2.6% annual increase noong nakaraang buwan.

    Pumangalawa naman umano sa nagpababa ng inflation rate ang food and non-alcoholic beverages na may 7.4% mula sa 7.9% noong Abril, habang pumangatlo ang restaurants and accommodation services na may datos nang 8.3% mula sa 8.6% noong nakaraang buwan.
