    Labor groups, dismayado sa ₱40 umento sa sahod sa NCR

    Kulang ang ₱40 na dagdag-suweldo ng mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor sa Metro Manila.

    Ito ang iginiit ng Federation of Free Workers (FFW) at sinabing hindi sapat ang naturang dagdag para sa tumataas na gastos ng pamumuhay sa rehiyon.

    Sinabi naman ng Partido Manggagawa (PM), masyadong mababa ang naturang umento kumpara sa hiling ng ilang grupo ng manggagawa noong Disyembre na mula ₱100 hanggang ₱1,140 na pagtaas sa arawang kita ng mga ito.

    “To illustrate categorically, the ₱40 increase can only buy a kilo of a regular-milled rice or pretend it can for 2 kilos of that imaginary P20/kg promised by the President. The increase may not even be enough to cover the increase in the prices of onions,” anang grupo.

    Nitong Huwebes, inanunsyo ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na inaprubahan ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board ang wage increase.

    Dahil dito, makatatanggap na ng ₱610 kada araw ang mga manggagawa sa private sector, mula sa dating ₱570 simula Hulyo 16.
