Authorities have put out a massive fire that raged through the 40-floor Abbco Tower in Sharjah’s Al Nahda area on Tuesday evening.
According to the eye witnesses, the blaze erupted in the building that is located next to the Taj Bangalore restaurant.

Fire engines and ambulances rushed to the scene and were working to put out the blaze.
Sharjah Civil Defence said they were called to the scene shortly after 9 pm on Tuesday.
Cars were damaged by the falling debris from the burning building.

Several fire engines were seen on site trying to bring the blaze under control. Tenants of the building and that of neighbouring ones have been evacuated.
At least five buildings nearby were evacuated by the authorities as they raced to contain the blaze. A large number of cars were damaged due to debris falling from the high rise.
