Cairo :  Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi has extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) President on the 20th anniversary of the SCW.

The establishment of the SCW was a royal initiative aimed at strengthening the status of Bahraini women, increasing their achievements in all fields and institutionalising all efforts to support their advancement and enhance their progress and status at all levels.

Al-Asoomi indicated that over the past two decades, the SCW has become one of the landmark accomplishments within the comprehensive development process during the prosperous reign of HM the King, noting that Bahraini women have been able to reach prestigious posts regionally and internationally.

They have also proved their competence and aptitudes, he added, citing their distinguished performance and exemplary dedication in serving their nation at all levels, within a civilised Bahraini society in which competitiveness, competence and gender balance prevail.

There are real opportunities for all Bahrainis to take part in building the nation and contributing to its progress, he said.

Al-Asoomi lauded HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the unlimited support provided by the government to all initiatives aimed at advancing Bahraini women.

Such support to the SCW has yielded positive results and contributed to increasing women’s achievements across all fields, making Bahraini women essential partners in the nation-building process as well as a model to be emulated at various Arab, regional and international gatherings.

The Arab Parliament Speaker also praised the tremendous efforts exerted by HRH Princess Sabeeka to materialize the royal aspirations into a forward-looking reality, paving the way for Bahraini women to increase their contributions to the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, strengthening their ability to participate, alongside men, in building their country’s prosperous present and future with competence and confidence

Al-Asoomi said that the crucial role of HRH Princess Sabeeka has consolidated the Kingdom’s status at the Arab, regional and global levels, promoting it as a pioneering model in empowering women and guaranteeing their rights.
