Bahrain : The Executive Board meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Bahrain for the first time in a historic moment for the sport in the Kingdom. ACC President Mr. Jay Shah was welcomed by Mr. Mohammed Shahid, CEO, of KHK Sports, who shared with him the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who is also the patron of the Bahrain Cricket Federation, created specifically for accelerating the growth of cricket in Bahrain.
Representatives of member countries India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, amongst others, were present at the event which took place at The Ritz Carlton Bahrain from February 3rd to February 5th. ”.

The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the ACC Executive Board Meeting for the first time as a gateway for cricket tourism in the Kingdom. The meeting took place due to the efforts of the Chairman of the Bahrain Cricket Federation’s Advisory Board, Mr. Mohammad Mansoor, who has constantly worked to raise the profile of Bahrain Cricket on the world stage along with the BCF board and its members.
“This meeting of the Asian Cricket Council being held in Bahrain will raise the profile of the game in the Kingdom and is a huge step towards bringing sports tourism to Bahrain in line with the vision of HH Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa. We were proud to showcase some of the best parts of the sporting history of Bahrain to ACC members as we gave them a tour of the Awali Cricket ground, one of the oldest cricket grounds in Bahrain, where some of them even played a couple of overs. We also organized a visit to the Bahrain International Circuit where the National Sports Day celebrations were ongoing”, said Mr. Mansoor.
At the meeting, ACC members discussed various issues regarding the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Board agreed to continue discussions on operations, timelines, and any other specifics with a view to ensuring the success of the tournament. An update on the matter will be taken at the next ACC Executive Board Meeting in March 2023.
