Director-General of Capital Governorate Police announced the arrest of three Asians for selling alcohol in Jid Hafs. He said that investigation into received cases led to identifying and arresting the suspects and confiscation of alcohol making tools and money. He said that legal proceedings were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.

Bahrain has announced the registration of 23,094 mask violations of not wearing face masks at public places and shops since the enforcement of the order. The Northern Governorate Police Directorate reported 1,538 violations related to the rule of social distancing and 5,057 violations of not wearing masks at public place. It carried 521 awareness campaigns. The Capital Governorate Police Directorate took 367 steps to protect social distancing in the district, along with reporting 3,793 mask-related violations and distributed 4,200 meals among expatriate workers. It also held 601 awareness campaigns. Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate registered 1,115 social distancing violations and 5,829 mask-related violations.…

Inspectors at the Al-Siddiq Center affiliated to the Northern Ports Customs Administration have seized postal parcels containing various counterfeit goods, including sets of clothes, fabrics, women’s bags, shoes and T-shirts for violating the Intellectual Property Law, based on the Customs Instructions No. 45 of 2020. Measures have been taken to send the confiscated goods to the Central Destruction Committee. The General Administration of Customs has warned those who smuggle counterfeit and prohibited goods in all their forms and types into the country saying they will be subjected to legal accountability and customs measures.

The High Criminal Court today sentenced three Future Bank officials to five years in prison each and to $1 million fines in the latest of a series of money-laundering cases by the Central Bank of Iran and other banks. The court also sentenced the Central Bank of Iran and the other banks implicated in the wide money-laundering scheme to fines of $1 million each, General Advocate Nayef Youssef Mahmood said. Amazon on Thursday launched a fitness band and app, “Halo”, as the e-commerce giant looks to take on Apple, Fitbit and Samsung in an increasingly crowded fitness tracker market. The Halo band would be priced at $99.99 while the app membership would cost $3.99 per month, according to Amazon. Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, inaugurates the expansion project of the Emergency Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC). This came within the framework of the ministry’s plan to preserve the highest safety standards for emergency or suspected coronavirus infection cases. The project consists two sections; each with the capacity of 50 beds that are prepared with all the needed medical care equipment. The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) began its field visits to rehabilitation centers and detention centers during Ashoora. The institute assured that inmates practice their religious rituals, in accordance with international human rights standards and the regulations of  rehabilitation centers. Director of Land Ports of the Customs Affairs, Mohammed Hassan Al Isa announced that through cooperation with the Saudi General Customs Authority, it was decided to allow Bahraini trucks (transit) with products to drive through Saudi Arabia to the targeted countries via King Fahad Causeway, starting from today. Bahraini trucks and their drivers were allowed to resume their trips to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the King Fahd Causeway on August 2.
