The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday its Twitter accounts had been hacked. “This account and @EBRDgreen have been hacked,” the EBRD said on its @EBRD Twitter account. “We are trying to get back to normal and apologise to our followers.” Majority-owned by the leading G7 economic powers, the EBRD invests in 38 economies, ranging from Estonia to Egypt and Morocco to Mongolia. Abu Dhabi Police have warned the public against complacency in taking key preventive and precautionary measures to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Oman’s cyber defenses foiled more than 14 billion cyberattacks over the course of last year, the Ministry of Technology and Communications announced in its 2019 annual report. “The ministry always supports the security of government entities by providing network protection, information systems security, responding to cyber-attacks, and threats related to government information security and generally providing security to the cyberspace in Oman,” it said in a statement. Kuwait Education Ministry has announced the reduction of private schools’ academic fees by 25 percent for the 2020/2021 period. In a statement, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Saud Al-Harbi called on private schools to commit to online schooling for the start of the 2020/2021 academic year, untill students can return to the school normally. Al-Harbi tasked undersecretary for private education with issuing rules and regulations on the matter, activate and monitor online studying and hold schools that violate the fee reduction decision responsible, according to article 10/2018.
