Pilgrims arrived at the Grand Holy Mosque in Makkah to perform the Tawaf Alqudum (Tawaf of arrival) in order to start the rituals of Hajj. Pilgrims also performed the Sa’ee (travel back and forth between Safa and Marwa), Saudi Press Agency reported. The government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has set preventive measures and integrated services so the rituals can be performed in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday its Twitter accounts had been hacked. “This account and @EBRDgreen have been hacked,” the EBRD said on its @EBRD Twitter account. “We are trying to get back to normal and apologise to our followers.” Majority-owned by the leading G7 economic powers, the EBRD invests in 38 economies, ranging from Estonia to Egypt and Morocco to Mongolia. A spokesperson for the EBRD confirmed that the EBRD Twitter account “has been compromised” though declined to give further details.

Royal Humanitarian (RHF) Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chairman of the Board of Mattar Jewelers, Ibrahim Mattar, to design and create jewelry with natural Bahraini pearls known internationally for their quality and beauty. Abu Dhabi Police have warned the public against complacency in taking key preventive and precautionary measures to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19. The move is in accordance with Resolution No. 38 of 2020, which covers the implementation of regulations related to violations and penalties based on Ministerial Resolution No. 17 of 2020, related to controlling violations, precautionary measures and instructions to limit the spread of the virus. Oman’s cyber defenses foiled more than 14 billion cyberattacks over the course of last year, the Ministry of Technology and Communications announced in its 2019 annual report. “The ministry always supports the security of government entities by providing network protection, information systems security, responding to cyber-attacks, and threats related to government information security and generally providing security to the cyberspace in Oman,” it said in a statement. In addition to uncovering and tackling 332 cybersecurity incidents in 2019, Oman thwarted 14.111 billion malicious attempts against government networks. Kuwait Education Ministry has announced the reduction of private schools’ academic fees by 25 percent for the 2020/2021 period. In a statement, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Saud Al-Harbi called on private schools to commit to online schooling for the start of the 2020/2021 academic year, untill students can return to the school normally. Al-Harbi tasked undersecretary for private education with issuing rules and regulations on the matter, activate and monitor online studying and hold schools that violate the fee reduction decision responsible, according to article 10/2018.
