India has shipped 50 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine to the United States, an Indian source with direct knowledge of the exports said, although U.S. regulators warned the anti-malarial drug may have harmful side effects in the treatment of COVID-19. About 553,406 phone calls were attended during the National Sterilisation Programme by the Command and Control Centre of the Dubai Police. Around 432,477 people called on the emergency number 999, while 120,960 people called the non-emergency number 901 from March 26 to April 28. A large-scale new pre-print study has found that a third of coronavirus patients admitted to UK hospitals die, and fewer than half of those put on ventilators survive. The study, called ISARIC4C and led by researchers from the University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, and Imperial College London, analyzed data from 16,749 COVID-19 patients in 166 UK hospitals between February 6 and April 18. Kuwait’s Health Minister Dr. Basel Al-Sabah on Thursday announced the recovery of 150 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 1,539. The minister said analyses and medical examinations and tests proved that these cases were cured of the coronavirus.
