The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al-Said, has pardoned 599 prisoners jailed for various offenses, including 336 foreigners, the state-run Oman News Agency said on Twitter on Wednesday. Formula One is to extend its shutdown period by a further two weeks from 21 to 35 days as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The shutdown is normally in the summer when teams are not allowed to carry out development work on their cars. Oman Health Ministry reported 48 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases to 419, including 72 recoveries and two deaths. MPs have received a petition from the owners of salons and massage parlours in Bahrain demanding compensation. These facilities were asked to shut down two weeks ago, but will not reopen along with other commercial and industrial shops. The salons will remain closed until April 23. The Ministry of Health and Prevention confirmed 283 new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the overall number of people who tested positive in the UAE to 2359. In a statement posted on the UAE news agency (WAM), the ministry said that the infected people, who are from different nationalities, were detected among those who contacted previous cases, adding that they are all in stable condition. Kuwait today confirmed 78 new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases over the past 24 hours. , bringing the overall number of infected peoples to 743. Health Ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that 23 patients were in intensive care, including 17 stable cases and 6 in critical condition. The Ministry of Health has produced a guide in different languages on how to make face masks at home. The videos can be found on the Ministry’s youtube channel. In a press conference conducted by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Taskforce, it was announced that all citizens and residents will be required to wear face masks in public.
