Starbucks is opening the world’s largest Roastery in Chicago. The company said the restaurant will open on November 15, overtaking Tokyo as its biggest location of the lavish offshoot. The four-story Chicago Roastery is 43,000 square feet and is replacing a former Crate and Barrel location in the city’s Magnificent Mile neighborhood. Roasteries are intended to be tourist attractions in themselves. They feature specialty coffees and teas, on-premise roasters and massive coffee casks where freshly roasted beans are held. An American woman has been charged with human trafficking for allegedly attempting to smuggle an undocumented six-day-old baby out of the Philippines hidden in a bag. Jennifer Erin Talbot was arrested at Manila’s airport on Wednesday and charged with human trafficking, kidnapping, and child abuse. Talbot was able to pass through the airport immigration counter without declaring the baby boy but was intercepted at the boarding gate by airline personnel. Officials said Thursday they have restored landline telephone service in Indian-administered Kashmir after suspending most communications on Aug. 5, when India’s Hindu nationalist-led government downgraded the Muslim-majority region’s autonomy and imposed a strict security lockdown. The government says it suspended communications across the Kashmir Valley, including the main city of Srinagar, to prevent rumors from spreading after the state was downgraded to two federal districts. A 74-year-old woman on Thursday set a world record by delivering twins at a hospital in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur town. Mangayamma, who conceived through the In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) process, delivered twin girls at the Ahalya Nursing Home in Guntur. A team comprising four doctors performed the cesarean operation.
