Manama : Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, has affirmed that the Ministry will continue improving the services it provides to fishermen. This can be done through developing services in ports and modernising the infrastructure of the fishing sector to meet the needs of its workers, which will contribute to increasing food production, he said. Washington : General Motors (GM.N) said on Friday it will recall nearly 1 million sport utility vehicles in the United States because the driver’s air-bag inflator may explode during deployment The recall covers 994,763 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles from the 2014 through 2017 model years with modules produced by ARC Automotive Inc. Dealers will replace the driver’s air-bag module. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said a driver in Michigan of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse was in a crash in which the front-driver airbag inflator ruptured during deployment causing facial injuries. Washington : U.S. import prices increased in April for the first time since late 2022 amid higher fuel costs, but imported inflation pressures remained subdued. Import prices rose 0.4% last month after dropping 0.8% in March, the Labor Department said on Friday. Last month’s increase was the first since December 2022. Economists polled had forecast import prices, which exclude tariffs, would increase 0.3%. Import prices in the 12 months through April fell 4.8%, matching the decline in March.
