Manama : The Muharraq Nights Festival is continuing its activities, being held at Muharraq’s historic old quarter. The event is co-organized by the  and the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research as part of the Pearling Path project. The festival will feature a wide variety of events at numerous venues across the city, lining up music, folklore, cinema, handicrafts and popular Bahraini dishes. The fun-packed festival will conclude on Saturday (December 10).

Manama :  His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will tomorrow depart for Saudi Arabia to lead the kingdom’s delegation to the 43rd session of Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Royal Court announced in a statement. HM King Hamad will also head Bahrain’s delegation to the Riyadh GCC-China Summit for Cooperation and Development, and the Riyadh Arab-China Summit for Cooperation and Development, at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the statement added.

At least seven people have been killed and six wounded in a bus bombing in northern Afghanistan. Police confirmed a blast hit a bus carrying oil workers in Balkh’s provincial capital, Mazar-i-Sharif. A roadside bomb placed in a cart detonated as the bus arrived near a city square, said police spokesman Mohammed Asif Wazeri. The explosion took place around 7 am local time and killed employees of the Hairatan Oil company, Mr Wazeri said. London : Britain’s economy is on course to shrink 0.4% next year as inflation remains high and companies put investment on hold, with gloomy implications for longer-term growth, the Confederation of Business Industry forecast on Monday. “Britain is in stagflation, with rocketing inflation, negative growth, falling productivity and business investment. Manama :  The International Motorcycle Federation (FIM), honored the Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) with an award on the 70th anniversary of its membership. BMF board member, Chairman of the Motorcycle Committee, Issa Al-Awadhireceived the prize during the FIM meeting, which was held in Italy from November 28 until December 3.
