Bahrain : Labor Ministry Undersecretary His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met a delegation from the World Bank. The meeting discussed cooperation in the investment field to enhance human resource development opportunities. Bahrain : The Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), supported by Team Bahrain, attracted $290 million (BHD109 million) in direct investment during the first three quarters of 2022 through 25 manufacturing and logistics companies setting up and expanding within the Kingdom. The investments are expected to generate more than 1,200 jobs over the next three years. Companies expanding in Bahrain include FedEx, BASF, and Racing Force International. Abu Dhabi : Wizz Air Abu Dhabi on Tuesday announced the launch of its first flight to Male, Maldives. Phnom Penh : Saudi Arabia will host the Asian Winter Games in 2029, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced. Trojena in Neom region, north west Saudi Arabia, was awarded the hosting rights after a detailed presentation to the 41st OCA General Assembly in Cambodia on Tuesday. Manama : The President of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will arrive on Wednesday, corresponding to October 5, on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Royal Court announced in a statement.. President Solih will hold talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on bilateral relations binding the two friendly countries, in addition to regional and international developments. Washington :The Hollywood sign is getting a makeover befitting its status as a Tinseltown icon. After a pressure-wash and some rust removal, workers this week began using 250 gallons (946 liters) of primer and white paint to spruce up the sign ahead of its centennial next year. The entire renovation effort is expected to take up to eight weeks. Originally built in 1923, the sign read “Hollywoodland” to promote a property development.
