Munich : The Undersecretary for Political Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met with Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Benny Gantz, on the sidelines of the 58th Munich Security Conference. The two sides stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to maintain security and stability in the region and to promote peace regionally and internationally. The meeting also discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, and a number of issues of shared interest.
Windsor : Queen Elizabeth, the world’s longest-reigning monarch, tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and is experiencing mild symptoms but expects to continue light duties this week, Buckingham Palace said. MINNEAPOLIS : Kim Potter, the former suburban Minneapolis police officer who said she confused her handgun for her Taser when she fatally shot Daunte Wright, was sentenced Friday to two years in prison. Wright’s family denounced the sentence as too lenient and accused the judge of giving more consideration to the white officer than the Black victim. Potter was convicted in December of first- and second-degree manslaughter in the April 11 killing of Wright, a 20-year-old Black motorist.
