MOSCOW : A fire at a coal mine in Russia’s Siberia killed 11 people and injured more than 40 on Thursday, with dozens of others remaining trapped, authorities said. Efforts to rescue those trapped in the mine were halted on Thursday afternoon because of an explosion threat, and rescuers were rushed out of the mine, administrators of the mine told the Interfax news agency. Bahrain : The Education Ministry is planning to build five new schools covering all educational stages, as part of its development projects, Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi has revealed. While receiving here today the member of the Council of Representatives, MP Fatima Al-Qatari, the minister said that work on the new schools, four in Salman Town and another in Duraz, will begin in the coming period. Berlin : Official figures released Thursday show Germany has become the latest country to record 100,000 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began. Germany’s disease control agency said it recorded 351 additional deaths in connection with the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the total toll to 100,119. In Europe, Germany is the fifth country to pass that mark, after Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy and France. Bahrain : Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announces that the BD 35 million monthly issue of Government Treasury Bills has been fully subscribed by 100%. The bills, carrying a maturity of 182 days, are issued by the CBB, on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The issue date of the bills is 28th November 2021 and the maturity date is 29th May 2022. Bahrain : The third edition of the South Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Cup will kick-off tomorrow, Thursday. Bahrain Taekwondo Federation is organizing the tournament at the Bahrain Volley Association (BVA) arena at the Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa Complex in Isa Sports City.
