Riyadh : A total of 44 multinational companies (MNCs) today received licenses to move their regional headquarters to Riyadh. The licenses were issued at the fifth edition of the Future Investment Initiative, attended by the world’s most influential leaders in business and government. Among the companies are prestigious multinationals in diverse sectors including technology, F&B, consulting and construction. Pakistan : Three Pakistani policemen were shot dead and 70 more wounded when supporters of a banned extremist group opened fire at a rally on Wednesday, the country’s interior minister said. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has been behind major anti-France protests that earlier this year led to the embassy issuing a warning for all French citizens to leave the country. Lisbon : President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa has highlighted Bahrain’s experience in investing in culture. In a lecture within the Aga Khan Award for Architecture’s program in Lisbon, Shaikha Mai stressed Bahrain’s keenness  on strengthening its cultural infrastructure, which reflects an ancient cultural heritage dating back about 4,500 years. Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Prince Hussain Aga Khan were present. Bahrain : The Ministry of Information has mourned the death of media person Mohammed Al Beshri who passed away early today. It recalled his contribution to the radio and television sector since he started his career as a presenter of news and talk shows. The Ministry of Information extended sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, praying to Allah Almighty to bless him with mercy, rest his soul in vast paradise and provide his family with patience and consolation.

India :  The Bombay High Court adjourned the bail hearing of Aryan Khan,  in connection with the alleged seizure of drugs on a cruise ship till Thursday after Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh and senior counsel Amit Desai concluded their arguments on Wednesday. Boise, Idaho : Police say they exchanged gunfire with a suspect during a shooting at a shopping mall in Boise, Idaho, that killed two people and injured four, including an officer. Bahrain :  The National Medical Taskforce for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) announced that following approval by the Vaccination Committee, all children aged 3 to 11 will be eligible to receive two doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, starting Wednesday, 27 October 2021. The Taskforce noted that the decision was taken following a thorough review of all medical health and safety recommendations conducted by the Vaccination Committee, adding that the move aims to preserve public health. Johannesburg :  Moderna said on Tuesday it will supply the African Union (AU) with up to 110 million doses of its coronavirus vaccine, with the first 15 million expected to be delivered by the end of the year. The doses were “offered at Moderna’s lowest tiered price, in line with its global access commitments,” the US company said in a statement. The African Union is buying coronavirus vaccines from various manufacturers to bolster member states’ vaccination drives, said dpa international. Bahrain : The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Olympic Committee, to develop cooperation in various fields of the Olympic and sports movement and to develop close relations between both countries.
