New York City teachers and other school staff members are supposed to be vaccinated against COVID-19 when the bell rings Monday morning, in one of the first school district mandates in the country requiring employees to be inoculated against the coronavirus. Bahrain : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Royal Order 35 of 2021, convening the bicameral National Assembly to resume its sessions. Under the Order, the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives will convene on Sunday, October 10 afternoon for the opening of the fourth session of the Fifth Legislative Term. Geneva : Bahrain’s Kalkidan Gezahegne today won the Giants Geneva 10 km road race in 29 minutes 38 seconds to take five seconds off the women’s world record for a 10km road race. Bahrain : The resurfacing work on Khalifa AL-Kabeer Highway in Muharraq necessitates closure of one and two lanes on stages in both directions near the Coast Guard. The closure will be every night from 11:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m, except weekend nights, starting  tomorrow October 4, for 10 nights. All road users are requested to observe and obey the traffic rules for safety of all, said the Ministry of works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning, which coordinated the closure  with the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of Interior.
